Zinciriye Madrasah - Zinciriye Medresesi
Aunt Nasra is the only person who makes curtains and table cloths with an old Syrian painting method. You should visit this lovely master for seeing her unique works which tell well known religious stories in a very naive way.
Deyrul Zaferan monastery is one of the most important examples of Syriac Orthodox Church architecture. It aqcuired the name in the 15 th-century named as the growing of saffron became more widespread in the area. Here you can see original manuscripts written in ancient Aramaic language.

Mardin general view - genel gorunum
In 2007 March I went to Mardin with my friend Duygu. It's small and very cosy .
The city has gained its importance by being the center of different religions and cultures, because of the historical past and geographical position and because of the people you see, who seem very gentle and friendly.
We stayed there for 4 days with a feeling like being at home or knowing everything about them already.
The city is like an open museum with traces of Sumerian, Babylonian, Akkadian, Assyrian, Persian, Byzantine, Selcuid and Ottoman influences. Mardin is also famous for its special silver ware, '' telkari''.
The first things that I remember are ; chatting with the salesman in the "Brons Makers Bazaar" while we drink 'mirra' (the bitter coffie of South Eastern Turkey) , being invited to an historical house and drinking tea , discovering the city while passing the tunnels which are called ''abbara'' and eating delicious local tapas in Cercis Murat House.
I hope I can return soon.
2007 Mart ayinda arkadasim Duygu ile Mardin`i ziyaret ettik.
Bakircilar carsisinda mirra icip esnafla sohbet etmek , sansli iseniz bir Artuklu evine davet edilip cay icmek , abbara adi verilen tunellerden gecerek sehri gezmek, Cercis Murat Konagindaki harika mezelerden tatmak aklima gelen ilk guzellikler.
Umarim en kisa zamanda tekrar yolum duser Mardin'e.
