Don Det - the island life in the south of Laos
We stayed on this island for a couple of days, trying to adapt to the village life, which is incredibly tranquil and cosy. On the Northern tip of the island starts a string of pensions, which almost invariably consist of a series of sketchy bungalows with a veranda overlooking the Mekong river. Because of the monsoons, one cannot help being trapped on tha veranda, watching the river flow by from your hammock. When the rains stop, it's lovely to walk around the island, along the paddies and through the patches of bamboo forrest.
During the night one hears the sound of Mekong river and sometimes rain.
Peter.
Adada elektrik kisitli. Kaldigimiz bungalovun sahibi aksamlari 1 saatlik elektrik saglayan bir jeneratore sahipti. Sonrasinda mumlar esliginde Mekong'u, bazen de yagmurun sesini dinledik. Gun boyu ada turundan sonra hamakta sallanarak kitaplarimizi okuduk.
